The Endowment Fund recognizes creative individuals for outstanding achievements and long-term contributions to the development of their field. Each year, the fund awards one lifetime achievement prize, one main sectoral prize, and up to 15 annual awards.

The awards are given based on proposals or at the initiative of the Endowment Fund. Justified proposals must be submitted to the fund by November 20. Detailed information is available in the fund's distribution guidelines.

The Lifetime Achievement and Annual Awards in the field of audiovisual art are presented each year at the Endowment Fund's formal gala event.
